Why "Ilyssion Holidays".
"Ilyssion" is a peculiar mythological and geographical word combination of the names of the Elysian Fields from Greek Mythology, and of the area of Ialysos, ancient and modern.
Elysian Fields: Paradisal place with blooming meadows, where reigned eternal spring and the sources of Oblivion gushed nectar, the booze of the Gods, which made the souls of people to forget all earthly tears and hardships. In Greek mythology, the Elysian Fields were the ultimate destination of the souls of heroes and virtuous, at their set.
Ialysos: The oldest city of the island of Rhodes. It is estimated to have been built around 1500 BC. From ancient Ialysos descended the famous Rhodian ancient Olympic Games champion Diagoras. The area of ancient and modern Ialysos contains the lush green mountain of Filerimos and a rocky sea, and in this area the sun does not rise, but it sets. Generally, on the island of Rhodes, the sun rises from the regions of Kallithea, Faliraki and Lindos (east side of the island) and sets in the regions of Ialysos, Petaloudes and ancient Kamiros (west side of the island).
So, this is the idea and meaning behind "Ilyssion Holidays": A unique place. A lush green orangery, full of colors and aromas, near the sea, where the sun sets. The ultimate destination for those who are not only looking simply for accommodation, but also for a new experience.
